Morris W. Merritt, 63, of Waterloo, formerly of Grundy Center, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at ManorCare in Waterloo while under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd at 11:00 A.M. at the Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home, 509 4th Street, Grundy Center, IA. There will be no public visitation. Inurnment will immediately follow the memorial service at the Rosehill Cemetery in Grundy Center.

Morris was born on March 16, 1951 in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Wilbur & Martha (Alexander) Merritt. He grew up on the family farm in Grundy Center. As an adult, Morris relocated to Waterloo where he lived in skilled care until his passing.

He was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Grundy Center. Morris enjoyed traveling, especially with his family in his younger years.

Morris has no immediate survivors. He was preceded in death by his parents.
