Mrs. C. J. Eells Passes Away

Passed Away At Home in Wellsburg Monday

Mrs. C. J. Eells died at her home in Wellsburg at 2:45 Monday afternoon following an illness which covered a period of four or five years. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Holtrop are being held at the English church at Wellsburg this afternoon. Interment will be made in the cemetery at Grundy Center.

Mrs. Eells had been a resident of Wellsburg for a quarter of a century where she has always been held in high regard by the large number who knew her.

Mrs. C. J. Eells nee Elizabeth D. Nisemann was born in Philadelphia, Penns., Sept. 9, 1854, and came to Burlington at the age of two years. She was married to C. J. Eells Dec. 28, 1874, and to this union were born three children, Oden B. Eells, of Grundy Center, H. C. Eells of New York and Mrs. C. H. Heddens, of Wellsburg. They came to Wellsburg from Burlington in 1899. She was confirmed in the Lutheran church at Burlington at the age of 13.

She leaves to mourn her death her husband, a brother, Chris, and two sisters, Mrs. J. H. Gereke, Wellsburg, and Mrs. William Leinbaum, of Boulder, Colorado; also six grandchildren.
