Death of Conrad Child

Vernon Boyd Fender, the 9-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry W. Fender, of Conrad, died early Monday morning at the Deaconess hospital, Marshalltown, where he was taken Sunday morning suffering from acute inflammation of the kidneys. He was born Sept. 2, 1914, in Burnett county, Wisconsin.

The parents, two brothers and one sister are living. The latter are Byron, Victor and Velma, the latter of whom is a twin of Vernon.

The funeral was held at 2:30 Tuesday at the Presbyterian church at Conrad. The body was taken to Spooner, Wis., for burial.

Vernon Fender, the 9-year-old son of H. W. Fender died at the hospital in Marshalltown Sunday afternoon. He was taken suddenly sick on Friday and continued until he was taken to the hospital on Saturday. The funeral was held in the Presbyterian church Tuesday afternoon and the body was shipped to Spooner, Wisc., to be buried beside the mother, who passed away a few years ago. He leaves his father, grandmother, two brothers and a sister to mourn his loss. The family came here about a year ago and the father is section foreman for the Northwestern here. The entire community extends sincere sympathy in the time of their bereavement.
