Former Grundy Resident Dead

Mrs. Peter Hemmen died at the hospital in Hampton last Friday as the result of childbirth which took place a few days before. Funeral services were held at the home, near Aredale, Tuesday, and later at Dumont, where the remains were laid to rest.

Mrs. Hemmen was born in Holland. She came to this country about twenty-five years ago and the family first located in Butler county. Later they moved to Pleasant Valley township, Grundy county, where they resided until about four years ago when they removed to Aredale where they lived on a farm. She was forty-seven years old. Mrs. Hemmen was the mother of ten children, seven of whom survive her. Aside from the children she is survived by her husband, two sisters, Mrs. Jake DeVoogd, of Grundy Center, and Mrs. Westerman, of Wellsburg; two brothers, Henry and Fred Schriver, of Allison. Relatives from this section were at the funeral on Tuesday.
