Death of Mrs. Sherburn

Mrs. Sherburn, wife of the late Elder Sherburn, many years ago residents of the Alice neighborhood, died last Sunday morning at the home of a daughter in Indiana and the remains were brought here for the final services and burial Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Byler, pastor of the Alice Church of God, assisted by Rev. Corliss, of the Conrad M.E. church, officiating in the presence of a large concourse of relatives and former friends of the deceased.

Mrs. Sherburn was in her eighty-second year. Her husband, who passed away upwards of thirty or more years ago, was at one time pastor of the Alice church. She was the mother of fourteen children, twelve of whom are living.

The remains were laid to rest in the family lot in the Alice cemetery beside those of the husband and two children.

The beautiful floral offerings by the friends and neighbors were mute evidence of the high regard in which Mrs. Sherburn was held by those who knew her during her residence of many years in Melrose township.
