Annie Andreessen Died Last Wed.

Miss Annie Andreessen died last Wednesday at the Grundy hospital following a stroke. She had been in failing health during most of the past year. She was a patient in the Grundy hospital 67 days. She was 68 years old.

The body was taken to the Engelkes funeral home where arrangements were made. A short service was held at the funeral home Saturday at 1:30, and later at the Colfax Presbyterian church with Rev. Gene Straatmeyer officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Miss Andreessen was born in Colfax township, Dec. 1, 1896. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andreas Andreessen. She grew up on a Colfax township farm. In 1910 her father died. She and her mother remained on the farm until 1920, after which they moved to Holland. Her mother died in 1940. She continued to reside in Holland until 1956 when she moved to Grundy Center. The past year when she was not in the hospital she lived at the home of her sister, Mrs. Albert Tjepkes, Grundy Center.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Susie Tjepkes, Grundy Center, and Mrs. Dick Claassen, Holland. There is one surviving brother, Paul Andreessen; also several nieces and nephews.
