Services Thursday for Mrs. Jessie Callaway

Funeral services were held last Thursday afternoon at the Alice Church of God, Conrad, for Mrs. Jessie Musgrave Callaway, 84, who passed away at 11 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14, at Bonnie's Nursing Home, Eldora.

The Rev. H. L. Heim, pastor of the Alice church, officiated. Mrs. Al Walling was organist. The men's quartet of the Alice church provided the vocal selections.

Pallbearers were Wayne Kinney, Ray, Paul, Wilbur, Wayne and Carl Calloway.

Mrs. Frank Aiken, Mrs. Ralph Slifer and Mrs. Lawrence Pence were flower ladies.

Interment was in the Alice cemetery.

Jessie Myrtle Musgrave Callaway, the daughter of James and Melissa Musgrave, was born Sept. 17, 1880, at Moravia, Iowa. In 1888 she moved with her parents and two brothers to a farm 12 miles southwest of Grundy Center. Most of her early life was spent in her immediate community. She was an active member of the Alice Church until illness confined her to her home.

In 1906 she was married to John H. Callaway and they resided on their farm in Melrose township, Grundy county, until his death in 1961. Mrs. Callaway resided at Bonnie's Nursing Home from February 1961 until the time of her death. Death was attributed to a cerebral hemorrhage.

Surviving are two sons, Dale and Glenn; two grandsons; a sister, Mrs. Lawrence Barton, Eldora.

Her parents and three brothers preceded her in death.
