Mrs. C. Thompson Died Last Wed.
Mrs. Charles H. Thompson died last Wednesday in the home of her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Coulson, in Grundy Center, with whom Mr. and Mrs. Thompson had been residing in late years. She had been in failing health during the past year. She was 85 years old. Death resulted from advanced age and complications.
The body was taken to the Engelkes Funeral Home where funeral arrangements were made. Services were conducted at the funeral home Saturday afternoon. Burial was in the Grundy Center cemetery. The service was conducted by Rev. Duane Heap.
Mrs. Thompson was born on a farm in Washington township, Grundy county, January 24, 1879. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Linder. She and Charles Thompson were married in Reinbeck, Dec. 23, 1903. They resided on a farm northeast of Lincoln near the Grundy county line until they moved to Grundy Center in 1933, where they since resided.
Surviving are the husband and two daughters, Mrs. Wilfred Coulson and Mrs. Paul Coulson, both of Grundy Center; two sisters, Miss Rose Linder, Waterloo, and Mrs. John Rohde, Reinbeck. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, three brothers and one grandchild.
