Dick Grimmius Dies At Allen Hospital

Dick Grimmius died last Wednesday forenoon at Allen hospital in Waterloo, where he had been a patient for eight days. He suffered from uremia during the past year. He was 66 years old.

The body was brought to the Engelkes funeral home in Grundy Center where a prayer service was held at 1:30 Monday afternoon. Later services were held in the Christian Reformed church at Lincoln Center with Rev. Martin Stegink officiating. Burial was in the Grundy Center cemetery.

Mr. Grimmius was born in The Netherlands, April 30, 1898. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jon Grimmius. He came to this country with his parents when he was 15 years old. The family located on a farm near Holland and Dick grew up there. January 21, 1920, he and Lena Raske were married. They farmed near Stout and later near Lincoln Center. 16 years ago they moved to Grundy Center, which remained their home.

Surviving are the wife and two daughters, Mrs. Larry Barnes, Grundy Center, and Mrs. Loyal Barnes, Denver, Iowa. There are two surviving sisters, Mrs. Dick Kuiper, Kalamazoo, Mich., and Mrs. Emil Stickfort, Holland. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son and three sisters.
