Mrs. Hattie Kruger Died In Nursing Home

Mrs. Hattie Kruger, who spent nearly all of her life in Grundy county, died Tuesday at the East First Street Nursing Home in Waterloo. She was 81 years old.

The body was brought to the Engelkes funeral home in Grundy Center, where arrangements were made. Funeral services will be at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Engelkes funeral home. The service will be conducted by Rev. Gene Straatmeyer. Burial will be in the Colfax church cemetery.

Mrs. Kruger was born in Lincoln twp., Grundy county, Dec. 4, 1882, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Pruisner. She was married to Klaas Kruger in February 1903 in Colfax township. They farmed for several years near Grundy Center and also 7 years in Minnesota. In 1926 they moved to Grundy Center, where Mr. Kruger died in 1929. She continued to live in Grundy Center for many years, then moved to Cedar Falls and for the past year and a half was a resident of the nursing home.

She is survived by one son and three daughters: Klaas, Cedar Falls; Mrs. Berdene Dirks, Holland; Mrs. Roy Starn, State Center; Mrs. Ray Kuelper, Clinton; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; also by 4 sisters, Mrs. Joe Goens and Mrs. John Goens, both of Bemis, So. Dak.; Mrs. Fred Sweet, Winnebago, Minn.; Mrs. Stansen Cegelski, Guekeen, Minn.; 3 brothers, John, Henry and Meene Pruisner, all of Winnebago, Minn.

Preceded by her parents, husband, 3 sons, 1 daughter, 2 sisters, 1 brother; also four children in infancy.
