Mrs. Nettie Lawless Dies Wednesday

Mrs. Nettie Lawless died last Wednesday at the Grundy hospital. The body was taken to the Ferree funeral home where arrangements were made. Services were Friday afternoon at two o'clock. The service was conducted by Rev. Harold Sparks, pastor of the Grundy Center Methodist church. Burial was in the Grundy Center cemetery.

Mrs. Lawless was born Jan. 22, 1876, in Grundy county near Reinbeck, the daughter of David S. and Emaline Burbank. She was married to William Delbert Lawless Aug. 4, 1893, in Waterloo. He preceded her in death May 22, 1912.

She was a resident of Waterloo from the time of her marriage until 1951 when she went to make her home with her son Delbert and wife in Grundy Center. She was a member of St. Paul's Methodist church in Waterloo and the Women's Relief Corps.

She is survived by three sons, Delbert, of Grundy Center; Herbert, of Oakland, Calif.; and Wilbur D., of Cedar Falls; six daughters, Mrs. H. J. Smith, Mrs. C. P. Stone and Mrs. Lester J. Ackerman, all of Waterloo; Mrs. George Rausch, of Oakland, Calif.; Mrs. E. H. Allison, Phoenix; and Mrs. L. P. Kane, of Skokie, Ill.; and one brother, Guy Burbank, Waterloo.
