Services Fri. For Mrs. J. F. Petersen

Services were held Friday at the Fredsville church for Mrs. James E. Petersen who died at the Sartori hospital Tuesday night following an illness from cancer. She had been a patient in the hospital for three weeks. She was 73 years old. Rev. Harald Sorensen, pastor of the church conducted the service. Burial was in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Mrs. Petersen was born Augusta Madsen in Sheffield, Ill., the daughter of Peter C. and Bertha Madsen on Aug. 9, 1890. She married James Petersen on March 31, 1919 in Illinois. The couple farmed near Fairbanks and Jesup before moving to their present home in 1930 five miles east of Dike.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Dike; Fredsville Luth. church and its senior Ladies Aid.

Surviving are her husband; four children, Mrs. Bernhard (Roberta) Ove, Cottage Row; Mrs. H. J. (Clara) Lueken, Winone, Minn.; Mrs. Warren E. (Evelyn) Sheare, Medfield, Mass.; Holger Petersen, Waterloo; one brother, Carl Madsen, Princeton, Ill. and 13 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one brother and one son.
