Mrs. Clarence Ford Dies Suddenly

Mrs. Mirtle A. Ford died at her home Tuesday afternoon following a heart attack. Mrs. Ford had been in her regular active duties and was expecting to leave in a few days to be with her sister Phoebe in Flandreau, South Dakota. She was 76 years old.

Mrs. Ford was born at Flandreau, So. Dak., December 21, 1888, the daughter of John and Angeline McBride.

She was married Dec. 18, 1907, to Clarence Ford. To this union were born five children who died in infancy.

Most of her married life she lived in this community. She was a member of the Methodist church, Woman's Relief Corps, King's Daughters and Eastern Star.

Mrs. Ford is survived by her daughter, Estell Vrzel and her husband William and grandson Ronald of Cedar Rapids. One sister, Phoebe McBride of Flandreau, South Dakota; four brothers, James McBride of North Dakota and Rufus, Robert and Charlie of Flandreau, South Dakota.

Mrs. Ford is also preceded in death by her husband Clarence on March 11, 1953, and also one sister, Nellie.

Funeral services will be Friday, May 8, 1964, at 2:00 p.m. from the Ferree Funeral Home with Rev. A. Harold Sparks officiating, with burial in the Grundy Center cemetery.
