Mrs. Claus Risius' Funeral Held Wed.

Funeral services for Mrs. Claus Risius were held Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 20 at the East Friesland Presbyterian Church at 1:30 preceded by prayer services at the home at 1 p.m. The Rev. Lee S. Ferro officiated at the services and interment was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Risius died Monday morning at the Eldora Memorial Hospital reaching the age of 58 years, eight months and six days.

Helen Sanders Risius, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Sanders was born Feb. 12, 1907 in Grundy Co. She attended the rural school in the area. On Feb. 12, 1926 she was united in marriage to Claus Risius at the family home. The couple made their home on a farm in Hardin County south of Ackley.

She is survived by her husband; five children, Mrs. Elmer (Kate) Kolthoff of Ackley, William of Steamboat Rock, Mrs. Jeanette Kolthoff of Ackley, Gerald of Union and Mrs. Delbert (Clara) Mitterer of Alden; 17 grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters, George Sanders of Iowa Falls, Mrs. George Huisenga of Iowa Falls, Harm Sanders of Aplington, Mrs. David Miller of Wellsburg, Mrs. Walter Harms of Cleves, Mrs. August Kolthoff of Iowa Falls and Mrs. Joe Delger of Ackley.

Preceding Mrs. Risius in death were her parents; a son-in-law, John Kolthoff; a granddaughter & three brothers.
