Jacob B. Rindels, an old resident of northwest Grundy county, died at the home of his son, Reiner Rindels, Friday, May 25, aged 84 years, 6 months and 12 days, having been born Nov. 13, 1838, at Loquard, Ostfriesland, Germany.

Mr. Rindels was sick for about twelve days during his last illness, death following an attack of the flu, complicated by the weakness attendant upon old age.

The funeral was held last week Monday, a short service at the house being held by Rev. Brandau, of Dumont, and the services at the Wellsburg Reformed church, in charge of the pastor, Rev. Wm. Landsiedel, following. Burial was made in the Wellsburg cemetery.

Mr. Rindels came to America in 1891, with his wife and family, having been married in 1865. The family lived west of Holland for a year or two, then moved two miles south and a half mile east of Wellsburg, where they lived for about ten years. They then moved to Ackley, where Mrs. Rindels died in 1903.

Since her death Mr. Rindels has made his home with his children, at first one home or the other, but during the past fifteen years has been at the home of his son, Reiner, near Allison.

There are left to mourn his loss the five sons and one daughter. The daughter is Mrs. Ede Schoolman of Wellsburg, Reiner Rindels, near Allison and Hildebrant Rindels, southwest of Wellsburg. Besides these, Mr. Rindels left twenty-one grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

The deceased was one of the first members of the Wellsburg Reformed church and was a man who held the respect and esteem of all who knew him.
