Mrs. Bert DeNeui Died At Independence

Mrs. Bert DeNeui died Saturday at the state hospital at Independence where she had been confined a little over three years. She was taken sick with pneumonia last winter and never fully recovered. She was 55 years old.

Funeral services were held at the Baptist church in Steamboat Rock Wednesday afternoon. Burial was in the Wellsburg Reformed church cemetery.

Mrs. DeNeui's maiden name was Hulda Schmidt. She was a native of South Dakota and she and Bert DeNeui were married there 36 years ago. Shortly after that time they returned to Grundy county and lived on a Shiloh township farm several years.

Surviving are the husband, two sons and four daughters. The sons are Allie and Alvin. The daughters are Mrs. Arend Miller, Mrs. Elzo Janssen, Mrs. Henry Gelder and Mrs. Potthoff, who was recently married and who is at home.
