Mrs. J. Lutterman Dies Saturday At Hospital

Mrs. John Lutterman, who spent nearly all of her life in this community, died at the Deaconess hospital, Marshalltown, at 3:40 Saturday morning. She had been in failing health during most of the past year. The past six weeks she was in the Marshalltown hospital. She was afflicted with cancer.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Reformed church at Wellsburg. Rev. J. E. Drake from Cedar Falls officiated at the service. Burial was by the side of the husband in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Mrs. Lutterman, whose maiden name was Tillie DeBuhr, was born in Ostfriesland, Germany, Jan. 7, 1879. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George DeBuhr. At the age of 5 she came to this country with her parents and the remainder of her life was spent in this locality.

On June 13, 1900, Tillie DeBuhr and John Lutterman were married. They began housekeeping on their farm two miles south and 1/4-mile east of Wellsburg and that remained their home up to the time of their death. The husband died in 1935.

Surviving are two sons and two daughters. The sons are George and Jerry. The daughters are Mrs. Conrad Molendorp and Mrs. Dale Tack, all of whom live in this community.
