Mrs. John Geiken Dies On Tuesday

Mrs. John H. Geiken died at 6:25 on Tuesday morning at her home 3 miles northeast of Wellsburg. She had been afflicted with cancer during the past six months. She was 57 years old last February.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at the home at one o'clock and later at the Reformed church in Wellsburg. Rev. Edw. Jurgens will conduct the services. Burial will be in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Resided In This Locality All Her Life
Mrs. Geiken resided in Grundy county all of her life. Her maiden name was Grace Hippen. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hippen. She was born in German township and she grew up there. On January 8th, 1914, Grace Hippen and John H. Geiken were married. They resided on a farm during all of their married life.

Mrs. Geiken is survived by her husband, one son and three daughters. The daughters are Mrs. Abe Murra, Mrs. Raymond Harms, Wellsburg, and Mrs. John Luchtenburg, Aplington. Frank Geiken, Wellsburg, is the only son.

Other surviving members of her family are her aged mother, Mrs. Frank Hippen, four brothers, Jake, Herman, John and Henry, Wellsburg. Her sisters are Mrs. Sieko Luchtenburg, Grundy Center, and Mrs. Fred Harms, Wellsburg.
