Rites Held For Mrs. Bernard Venenga, 65

Louise, Mrs. Bernard Venenga, 65, died Friday night, March 9, at the Marshalltown Area Community Hospital where she had been taken earlier in the day. She was born October 29, 1918, a daughter of Harry K. and Mary (Wagner) Dilly in Little Rock, IA (Lyon county).

On August 21, 1941, she married Bernard Venenga, at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wellsburg, where they lived until moving to Conrad 24 years ago. Mrs. Venenga was employed as an assistant cook at the BCL School; did cleaning at the First State Bank in Conrad; and had been employed at local cafes over the years, until she was unable to work due to ill health three years ago. She was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Wellsburg.

Survivors include her husband, Bernie; one son, Bernard "Gene" Venenga, Holland; a grandson, Allen L. Venenga, raised and made his home in Conrad with Bernie and Louise; three daughters, DeAnna (Mrs. Walter) Cmelik, Cherokee; Sandra, (Mrs. Art) Duncan, Clemons; Helen, (Mrs. Norman) Tow, Ruthven; four sisters, Jennie (Mrs. Clarence) Flanagan, Jasper, MN; Mrs. Stena Julius, Minneapolis, MN; Mary (Mrs. Melvin) Christians, Slaton, MN; Harriet (Mrs. Ben) Duin, Lone Prairie, MN; one brother, Frank Dilly, Minneapolis, MN; 11 other grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services were Tuesday, March 13, 1:30 p.m. at the First United Presbyterian Church of Conrad, with Rev. Timothy Soule officiating. Organist was Mrs. Ronald Beeghly and soloist, Mr. Robert Kruse. Casketbearers were nephews, LeRoy Gerloff, Glenn Winkowitsch, Duane Venenga, Jack Flanagan, Russell Roos, and Harry Dilly. Flower-bearers were Mrs. Evelyn Rolston and Mrs. Ruth Gale. Burial in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, RR, Wellsburg. Johnston Funeral Home, Conrad, was in charge of arrangements.
