Henry C. Conradi Died Saturday

Henry C. Conradi who had resided in Grundy county continually for 66 years, died at his home a mile west of Dike at 1:30 Saturday afternoon. He had been in failing health the past two years from hardening of the arteries. He was 76 years old last June.

Born in New York City
Henry Conradi was born in New York City June 11th, 1873. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Conradi, Sr. At the age of ten Henry came to Grundy county with his parents. The family located on a farm in Pleasant Valley township and Henry grew up there.

On March 13th, 1895, Henry C. Conradi and Kate Lingelbach were married. They began housekeeping on a Grundy county farm in Pleasant Valley township. 22 years ago the family moved to their farm west of Dike. Mrs. Conradi died in 1933. Her husband continued to reside on the farm. One of his daughters, Mrs. Elmer DeBower and family, made their home with him on the farm. Mr. Conradi was a good farmer, a good neighbor and a good citizen. Those who knew him were his friends.

Surviving are three sons and two daughters. The sons are William from Dike, John, who resides on a farm in Lincoln township and Neil who lives on a farm near Reinbeck. The daughters are Mrs. Elmer DeBower on the home farm and Mrs. Frank DeBower, Allison. There are 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Other surviving relatives are one brothers, Charles L. Conradi, Grundy Center.

Funeral services were held at the home at 12:30 Tuesday and later at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Shiloh township. Burial was in the cemetery adjoining the church. The services were conducted by the local pastor, Rev. A. W. Malin.
