Mrs. Henry Ascher Died Last Friday

Mrs. Henry Ascher died Friday morning at the family home near Buck Grove. Death resulted from a heart ailment and other complications. She was 67 years old. She was the mother of eight surviving children.

Funeral services were held at the home at one o'clock Monday afternoon and later at St. Paul's Lutheran church. Rev. A. W. Malin was the officiating pastor. Burial was in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Mrs. Ascher resided in Grundy county all of her life. She was born on a farm in Colfax township and she grew up there. She was born March 12, 1881. On October 2, 1900, she was married to Henry Ascher. The couple began housekeeping on a farm near Mrs. Ascher's former home and remained there until 1932 when they moved to a farm in Washington township near Morrison. Ten years later they moved to their present home in Pleasant Valley township.

Surviving are her husband, four sons and four daughters. The sons are Henry Ascher Jr., Wellsburg; Harry, Grundy Center; John, of Clarksville; Peter, who is at home. The daughters are Mrs. Chris Fink, Wellsburg; Mrs. Ray Riekena, Arlee, Mont.; Mrs. Harold Purvis, Iowa Falls; and Hattie, who is at home.

The casketbearers at the funeral service were Lambert Hoffman, John Kannegeiter, Ben Boelman, John J. Lindaman, Harm Flessner and Jack Perry.
