Former Wellsburg Resident Dies At the Cherokee Hospital

Conrad Kammier, a former resident of this community, died at the state insane hospital at Cherokee, Iowa, on Dec. 29th. The body was sent here for burial. Services were held at the home of his sister, Mrs. John Harms, at one o'clock Saturday and later at the Shiloh Lutheran church. The services were conducted by Rev. A. W. Malin. Burial was in the cemetery adjoining the church.

The deceased was born in Windheimer, Westphalia, Germany, on July 14, 1869, making him 74 years, 5 months and 15 days old at the time of his death. He came to this community when he was a boy and worked industriously on a farm for several years. The past 50 years he resided in Cherokee county and although in later years he was placed in a state institution, he seemed well satisfied with his station and did the work well assigned to him.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. John Harms and Mrs. Henry Giesking; two brothers, William Koch and Fred Koch. Two brothers preceded him in death. They were Henry and William Koch and one sister, Louise.
