Mrs. Maud Harms, Lifelong Resident, Buried on Tuesday

Funeral services for Mrs. George Harms, nee Maud Eberline, were held on Tuesday afternoon, April 14, 1959, at 1 p.m. at the home and later at the St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church. Rev. James Ohlrogge of Grundy Center was officiating pastor.

The choir of St. Paul's church sang at the services accompanied by Mrs. Frank Meyeraan, Jr., organist. Flower attendants were Mrs. David Miller and Mrs. Tielko H. Bunger. Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased, Virgil Eberline, Donald Eberline, Merville Eberline, Alvin Harms, Ibeling W. Harms, Harold H. Harms. Interment was in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Mrs. Harms was taken suddenly ill on Friday, April 10, and at noon was taken to the Grundy county hospital where she died at 4:30 p.m. the same day. Death was attributed to a heart attack. The deceased was 73 years and 11 months old when she died.

Mrs. Harms was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Eberline and was born on May 10, 1885, on a farm northeast of Wellsburg in Pleasant Valley township, Grundy County.

She was united in marriage to George Harms on October 14, 1907 at the parental home. Rev. Wiesman officiated at the marriage. The couple lived on farms near Wellsburg their entire married life until their retirement to Wellsburg on February 1, 1943.

Mrs. Harms was a faithful member of the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church and was also a member of the United Lutheran Church Women's Society.

Those who survive are three sons, Marlin I. Harms of Grundy Center, Harold F. of Wellsburg and Raymond G. of Wellsburg. There are also 13 grandchildren. One brother, Ford Eberline, and two sisters, Edna and Hazel Eberline, all of Wellsburg, also survive as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Preceding the deceased in death were her parents, two sisters, Mrs. Albert Ross and Hilda Eberline, four brothers, Harry, Lester, Fred and Willie Eberline, and her husband who died on September 26, 1950.
