Funeral Saturday For Car Accident Victim, Wm. Koch

William Koch, Jr. was killed Wednesday evening in an automobile accident 1 1/2 miles east of Wellsburg. He reached the age of 57 years, 10 months, and 21 days.

He was born William Fredrich Koch, Jr., to Mr. and Mrs. William Koch, Sr. (nee Louise Giesking) on a farm in Colfax township, northeast of Wellsburg. He attended the rural school in the area.

On October 13, 1931, he was united in marriage to Bernice Primus. This union was blessed with five daughters and three sons. Following their marriage they began farming on the home place of his parents. In February of 1966 they moved to Wellsburg.

He was a member of the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church having been confirmed on April 13, 1924.

He was preceded in death by his mother; one son, Darwin; one granddaughter, Kelly Sue Riekena and one grandson, Matthew Koch.

Those who survive him are his wife, Bernice, five daughters and two sons, Darrell Koch of Wellsburg; (Kayleen), Mrs. Don Rouse of Grundy Center; (Karen), Mrs. Harlyn Riekena of Wellsburg; Dallas Koch of Holland; Miss Linda Koch of Cedar Rapids; Miss Billie Koch of Wellsburg; Miss Bernice Kay Koch of Wellsburg; six grandchildren; his father, William Koch, Sr., of Wellsburg, three sisters, (Minnie), Mrs. Heine Olthoff of Wellsburg, Miss Charlotte Koch of Cedar Rapids, (Elsie), Mrs. Forrest Lahue of Cedar Rapids and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for William Koch, Jr., were held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Doyen Funeral Home and at 1:30 p.m. at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Pastor Ralph Andersen was officiating clergyman.

Mrs. Frank Meyeraan Jr. was organist and also accompanied the soloist, Eldon Harms. Mrs. William Meyer and Mrs. Edwin Peters were flower attendants.

Pall bearers were Herman T. Koch, Willie Giesking, I. J. Harms, Herman J. Koch, Chris Koch and Ernest Koch.

Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church.
