Services Thursday For Sam Thompson

Services were held Thursday at the French funeral home in Reinbeck for Sam Thompson, who died at the University hospital at Iowa City on June 21. He had been a patient at the hospital only a few days before his death. In late years he was a resident at the convalescent home in Toledo.

Sam was born November 9th, 1878 at Moville, Ireland, the son of James Thompson and Sarah Thompson. He was wed in Ireland to Agnes Campbell at Moville, Ireland, and the couple arrived in the U.S. in March, 1905, and came to Grundy County where they had acquaintances.

They lived in Reinbeck and around Reinbeck and also a short period in Morrison.

No children were born to the couple. Mrs. Thompson died in Morrison in February, 1941, and was buried in the Washington Township cemetery.
