Mrs. Marie Schrafel Schmoranc died at St. Francis hospital in Waterloo Friday morning at 10:30. Death was due to heart trouble and other complications.
Mrs. Schmoranc was born Sept. 1866 in Austria and married Anthony Schmoranc in Austria Nov. 19, 1888.
Mr. and Mrs. Schmoranc came to this country four years after their marriage and located on a farm in Washington township, where they lived for 34 years, then moved to Morrison. After the death of her husband eight years ago, Mrs. Schmoranc moved to Grundy Center.
Three daughters and two sons survive: Mrs. Ben Flanders, Tulsa, Okla.; Mrs. Max Harnberg, Marshalltown; Margaret, at home; William, of Morrison; Henry, of Marshalltown. One daughter preceded her in death. One sister, Mrs. Julius Mannel, Buckingham, and two brothers, Joe Schrafel of Conrad and Wentzel Schrafel of Austin, Minn., also survive.
Her husband preceded her in death in November, 1935.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Coffman funeral home and burial made in Washington township cemetery beside her husband.
Rev. H. H. Palmer was in charge of the services. Vocal numbers were sung by Mrs. Glen Cone, accompanied by Mrs. A. R. Trevillyan.
Out-of-town relatives and friends at the services were Wenzel and Donald Schrafel, Austin, Minn.; Mrs. Ben Anderson and daughter, Dexter, Minn.; Mrs. J. W. Bloom, Laurel; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hornberg, Haverhill; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Reimers and Mr. and Mrs. Billy Young, LaPorte; Mr. and Mrs. Julius Mannel, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Mannel, Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Mannel, Buckingham; Mr. and Mrs. John Hotopp, Beaman; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Klar, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Tasler, Mrs. Lena Katzer, Conrad; Mrs. Elmer Lorenzen, Reinbeck; Ernest Hanisch, Cedar Falls; Joe Schrafel and family, Conrad.
