Mrs. Lenora Morrill Friday At Ackley

Mrs. Lenora Morrill passed away at the Harry Spurling home in Ackley April 9 at the age of 83 years, 6 months, 22 days.

Lenora Downey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Downey, was born Sept. 17, 1870, in Illinois. She was married to George Morrill on Feb. 28, 1894. After their marriage they moved to Belvedere, Neb., for a few years, then to a farm near Morrison. Moving into Morrison in January, 1900, where Mr. Morrill worked in the creamery until it burned down. In March of the same year he started work on the section of the B.C.R. and N. Railroad and later for the Rock Island.

Mrs. Morrill resided in Morrison until a few years ago when her health failed and she was forced to retire to a convalescent home.

She is survived by two sons, Vernon of Palmer, Iowa, and Ivan, also a resident of the Spurling home in Ackley; two grandchildren, Mrs. Ira Mabe and Annette Morrill. She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, Luther.

Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon in the Spurling home with interment beside her husband in the Washington Township Cemetery.
