Rites Held For William Wiegman

William Wiegmann of 801 Conn St., Parkersburg, died at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo at 9:15 p.m. Wednescay, February 16. He had been a patient there for one week. He was 71 years, 1 month and 17 days of age.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 19, 1983 in the Schwartz-Engelkes Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Rev. Robert McKittrick pastor of the First Congregational Church in Parkersburg officiating.

Special music was "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Abide With Me."

Casketbearers were Calvin Calvert, Marvin Calvert, Robert Calvert, Joseph Siebenga, Kenneth Thorne and Marvin Adolphs.

Interment followed in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, rural Wellsburg.

William was born the son of William and Maggie Krider Wiegmann on December 30, 1911, in Pleasant Valley Township, Grundy County, south of Parkersburg. He attended school in Parkersburg.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After he got out of the service he farmed until 1974 when he moved to Parkersburg. He had been in ill health for about one year.

Surviving are his sister, Mrs. Kate Calvert of Waterloo; one half-brother, Edward Wiegmann of Cedar Falls; and four half-sisters, Mrs. Lorraine Thorne of Parkersburg, Barbara, Mrs. Wayne Calkins of Webster City, Thelma, Mrs. Marvin Flesner and Adel, Mrs. Robert Mennen, both of Parkersburg. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Bertha Wiegman, and two sisters, Louise, Mrs. Joe Siebenga and Margaret, Mrs. Jake Ibelings.

Schwartz-Engelkes Funeral Home in Parkersburg was in charge of funeral arrangements.
