Services Held Wednesday For Jennifer Peters
Jennifer Lea Peters, age 4 1/2, of rural Wellsburg, passed away at the Covenant Medical Center, St. Francis Hospital in Waterloo, on Sunday afternoon, September 20, from an extended illness.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, at the St. John's Lutheran Church, Wellsburg. Rev. Max Zschiegner officiated and Rev. Bruce L. Zimmermann, uncle of Jennifer, delivered the message.
The congregation sang "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and "I Am Jesus' Little Lamb." They were accompanied by Mrs. Eleanor Harms, who also played the prelude and postlude music on the organ.
Casketbearers were Mark Tomlinson, Wes Tomlinson, Paul Howard, Mike Macri, Duane Gummert and Bud Lampe.
Flower ladies were Barb Byas, Velma Hippen, Audrey Macri and Beverly Colvin. Serving as ushers were Kenneth Cordes, George Sietsema, Leon Harms, Ronnie deNeui and Bob Murra.
Burial was in the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, rural Wellsburg.
Jennifer was born on December 6, 1982, at Iowa Falls, the daughter of Paul E. and Janice M. Tomlinson Peters.
She was baptized into the Christian faith on January 2, 1983, by her uncle Bruce Zimmermann, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wellsburg.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Edwin E. Peters, on September 7, 1987.
She is survived by her parents, Paul and Janice peters; her sister, Angela Marie, at home; her grandparents, Mrs. Edwin (Dorothy) Peters of Wellsburg, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Tomlinson of Traer and three great-grandmothers, Mrs. Amanda Gummert of Gilman, Mrs. Janet Tomlinson of Traer and Mrs. Matilda Karkosh of Reinbeck.
A memorial fund has been established by the family.
The Doyen-Abels Funeral Home, Wellsburg, was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
