Elsie Lahue Services Held

Elsie Marie Lahue died Saturday, July 5, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a short illness.

An evening prayer service was held Sunday, July 6, at 4 p.m. at the Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Kay Slocum. Graveside services were held Monday, July 7, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Cemetery, Wellsburg.

Born in Wellsburg to William and Louisa Geisking Koch, she married Forrest Lahue at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wellsburg. He died November 1, 1991.

She and her husband had owned and operated Hillcrest Nursing Home in Cedar Rapids for many years. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, VFW Post 788 Auxiliary, and was a graduate of Colfax #3 in Wellsburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother and a sister.

Survivors include her sister, Charlotte Koch of Cedar Rapids; 2 nephews; 5 nieces; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. She is also survived by her faithful companion, Rosco.

A memorial fund has been established.
