Edwin E. Stahl, 85, of Wellsburg, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 9 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, rural Wellsburg with burial following in the church cemetery.

Edwin was born January 1, 1917 in rural Holland, the son of Jurgen and Harmka (Harms) Stahl. He attended Colfax #5 country school in rural Holland. On March 10, 1943, Edwin was united in marriage to Mary Harms at St. Paul Lutheran Church in rural Wellsburg. In 1946, they moved to a farm north of Wellsburg where he farmed for thirty-one years. In 1977, they moved into Wellsburg where Edwin worked for Surge Equipment Company for several years. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where he served on the church council for several years. He enjoyed the outdoors and farming.

He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and two sisters.

Edwin is survived by his wife Mary and sister Mabel Nederhoff both of Wellsburg; and by several nieces and nephews.

A memorial fund has been established.
