Willie Ernest Giesking, 89, of Wellsburg died from natural causes on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at the Grundy Care Center in Grundy Center, Iowa.

Willie was born August 1, 1917 in rural Wellsburg, Iowa, son of Henry and Hermina (Koch) Giesking. Willie was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wellsburg. He attended country school near his home. He was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Henricks on October 9, 1946, they later divorced. Willie lived on the home farm place and farmed there until he retired and moved to Wellsburg in 1974. Willie moved to the Grundy Care Center in October of 1998.

He is survived by his daughters: Linda and husband Eddy Schnell of Grundy Center, Iowa, Donna and Robert Kolder of Parkersburg, Iowa, Gwen Giesking of Metamora, Illinois, and Lillian and Thomas Beavers of Jordan, Minnesota; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, a son: Dale W. Giesking; two brothers: Carl and Alvin Giesking; and a sister: Charlotte Hempen.
