Mrs. Helen Buskohl Funeral On Friday

Mrs. Helen Buskohl, 82, died at 5 a.m. Tuesday at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Gene Straatmeyer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Helen Halfwassen was born November 20, 1885, in Eastfriesland, Germany, and came to Grundy county with her parents as a small child.

She was married to John Buskohl on February 12, 1913. The couple farmed near Grundy Center until retiring to Grundy Center in 1948. Mr. Buskohl died February 11, 1958.

Mrs. Buskohl was a member of the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include two daughters and two sons: Jennie, Mrs. Thomas Buseman, and Esther, Mrs. Vernon Klosterboer, both of Grundy Center; Harvey of Holland, and John of Gladbrook. Also 12 grandchildren, and one brother, John Halfwassen of Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, one sister, and two brothers.

The casket will be taken to the church from the Engelkes Funeral Home at 12 noon Friday. The casket will not be opened after the service.
