Fritz Hook Dies Suddenly Tuesday

Fritz Hook, 63, of rural Holland died Tuesday morning, March 9 at his home of an apparent heart attack.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock in the Colfax Presbyterian church. Rev. David Dupee will officiate. Burial will be in the Colfax Center cemetery.

He was born November 17, 1907 in Colfax township, Grundy Co., the son of George and Minnie Getting Hook. On February 8, 1933 he was married to Effie Meyer in Palermo township. He had been a farmer all of his married life. Mr. Hook was a member of the Colfax Center Presbyterian church and past trustee and deacon.

Survivors include his wife Effie, a daughter Shirley, Mrs. LeRoy Huesman of Ackley, one son Dennis Grundy Center, and four brothers, Harm G. of Holland, Raymond, Aplington; Louie, Dike; and Alvin of Grundy Center; also five grandchildren.

The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
