Mrs. Louise Dieken Funeral Held

Mrs. Louise Dieken, 85, passed away at the Beverly Manor Convalescent Center Thursday evening, Dec. 24, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Bethany Presbyterian church with the Rev. Calvin Vanderwerf officiating. Burial was in the Colfax Center Presbyterian church cemetery.

Mrs. Raymond Appel played organ preludes. Mrs. John Niehaus and Mrs. Lester Harken were flower attendants. Casketbearers were Herman Lupkes, Henry J. Meester, Max Appel, Conrad Flater, Lester Harken and Ernest Flater.

She was born on April 16, 1885, in Lincoln township, Grundy county, Iowa, the daughter of Koert and Gertie Theerman. Louise Theerman and Juhrren D. Dieken were married February 14, 1906. They made their home on a farm in Colfax township until his death on March 8, 1935. She then moved into Grundy Center. She had resided at the Beverly Manor 5 1/2 years.

Survivors include one son, Rev. Richard Dieken of Sidney, three daughters, Miss Gertrude Dieken of Philadelphia, Pa., Mrs. John (Irene) Perry of Gallup, New Mexico and Mrs. Gordon (Janet) Jackson of Long Beach, Calif., also six grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. W. H. Copley of Reinbeck and Miss Jennie Theerman of Grundy Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother and two sisters.

Mrs. Dieken was a member of the Bethany Presbyterian church and an honorary member of the United Presbyterian Women's organization.
