Mrs. Reka Muller Died Friday

Funeral services for Mrs. Reka Muller, 84, were held Monday at Colfax Center Presbyterian Church, rural Holland, with Rev. Jerry Van Curler in charge of the service, assisted by Rev. Wiert Eekhoff.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Muller died at her home in Grundy Center on Friday morning due to complications of her age.

She was born at Freeport, Ill. on November 11, 1888, the daughter of Eilart and Trena Peters Eckhoff.

When she was a small child the family moved to Iowa.

On January 12, 1904, she was married to Sievert Muller in Pleasant Valley township, Grundy county. The couple farmed in the Holland vicinity until Mr. Muller died on December 6, 1947. She moved to Grundy Center in 1949.

Mrs. Muller is survived by 11 children, Mrs. Ella Kuper of Sioux Falls, S.D., Mrs. John (Trena) Raske of Grundy Center, Mrs. Rudolf (Violet) Heerkes of Holland, Eilert Muller of Reinbeck, Hans Muller of Grundy Center, Mrs. Jennie Tjepkes of Grundy Center, Mrs. Hans (Kate) Syhlman of Gladbrook, Sievert Muller of Grundy Center, Mrs. Wilbert (Anna) Wilson of Grundy Center, Mrs. Loyd (Frieda) Mast of Grundy Center, and Raymond Muller of Reinbeck; 21 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by one brother, John Eckhoff of Nashua, and four sisters, Mrs. Jennie Knock of Grundy Center, Mrs. Kate Ennenga of Holland, Mrs. Trena Osterman of Nashua, and Mrs. Eila Wildeboer of Mason City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; two sons, four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one brother and two sisters.

Casketbearers were Cecil Kuper, Vernon Heerkes, Donald Miller, Alvin Miller, James Syhlman, and Roger Muller.

Music was provided by Mr. and Mrs. Tom Simms, accompanied by Mrs. Raymond Hinders. Mrs. Milf Meyer and Mrs. Paul Andreessen were in charge of floral arrangements. Milf Meyer and Harm G. Hook were ushers.

Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
