Car Accident Takes Life Of Kim Albers, 22

Mrs. Kimberly Albers passed away Thursday evening, January 21, 1982, as a result of injuries received in a one-car accident, five miles east of Wellsburg on County Road D-25, near the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church. She reached the age of 22 years and 28 days.

Funeral services for Mrs. James (Kimberly) Albers were conducted on Monday, January 25, 1982 at 1:30 p.m. at the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church of Holland by Pastor Jerry Van Curler and Pastor Robert Ward. Mrs. Tom Simms sang two selections. She was accompanied by Mrs. Raymond Hinders who also played the organ prelude and postlude. Miss Debra Bergman and Mrs. Spencer Slifer were in charge of the flowers. Pall bearers were Loren Aalfs, Rick Saak, Tim Stephan, John Herring, Mike Olson, and Kevin Schatzberg. Burial was in the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church cemetery.

She was born Kimberly June Stabenow, on December 23, 1959, in Waterloo, the daughter of Melvin and Yvonne (Carpenter) Stabenow, and graduated from the Central High School in Waterloo with the Class of 1978. She had been employed by McDonald's Restaurant on LaPorte Road in Waterloo for about four years.

On October 3, 1981, she was united in marriage to James Albers at the Grace United Methodist Church in Waterloo. Following their marriage they lived on a farm east of Wellsburg.

Kimberly was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church of Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by: her maternal grandmother and paternal grandfather.

Those left to mourn her passing are: her husband, James Albers; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin A. Stabenow of 559 Pioneer Road, Waterloo; her two brothers, Donald and Jack Stabenow, both at home; her maternal grandfather, Glenn Carpenter of Hollywood, Florida; her paternal grandmother, Mrs. Della M. Stabenow of Waterloo and many other relatives and friends.
