PRUISNER, KRUGER, WOLTHOFF

Berdene L. Pruisner, of Dike, passed away Friday, Sept. 22, 2000, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo of natural causes. She attained the age of 71 years, five months and 13 days.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, at the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church. Pastor Larry Hoop and David Dupee officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.

Berdene was born April 9, 1929, in Holland the daughter of Albert J. and TaLena Anna (Wolthoff) Kruger. She graduated from Dike High School in 1947. On Feb. 3, 1949, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Pruisner. Kenneth farmed and Berdene was always his right hand man.

Berdene was a member of the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church where she sang in the Church Choir. Berdene also loved to bowl. She passed both her love for music and bowling on to her daughters.

Berdene was preceded in death by her parents; two granddaughters, Amanda Stahl and Jamie Heronimus; a brother, Klaus V. Kruger; a niece; and a nephew.

Berdene is survived by her husband, Kenneth; her six daughters, Nancy and Gary Heronimus of Cedar Falls, Sheila and Jim Luiken of Grundy Center, Peggy and Curt Stahl of Holland, Joan and Carroll Troe of Aplington, Jill and Randy Konken of Dike and Darcy and Kevin Gage of Holland; a brother, Orlen and Dorothea Kruger of Fern; two sisters, Anona Arends of Reinbeck and Marlys and Roy Klinehart of Cedar Falls; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home, Grundy Center, was in charge of the arrangements.
