Hans Muller Services Held

Hans Muller of Grundy Center passed away Friday, January 28, at the Grundy Care Center in Grundy Center of natural causes, having attained the age of 82 years, 8 months and 12 days.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 1, at the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church in rural Holland at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Larry C. Hoop officiating.

Pallbearers were Rick Mast, Ray Wilson, Roger Muller, Wendell Muller, Jim Syhlman and Alvin Miller.

Burial followed in the church cemetery. Graveside rites were conducted by Grundy Center American Legion Post #349 AMVETS 17.

A memorial fund has been established.

Hans was born May 16, 1911, in Butler County, the son of Sievert and Rieka (Eckhoff) Muller. He received his education in Grundy County Schools. Hans served in the United States Army during World War II, and was honorably discharged in 1945. He farmed in Grundy County until 1948 when he moved into Grundy Center and worked as a farmhand for 21 years. He was then employed by Western Dressing where he worked until his retirement in 1975.

Hans was a member of the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church in rural Holland.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Ben, Eilert and Melvin; and by 4 sisters, Ella Kuper, Tena Raske, Violet Heerkes and Jennie Tjepkes.

Survivors include 2 brothers, Raymond and Sievert Muller, both of Grundy Center, 3 sisters, Mrs. Kate Syhlman, Mrs. Anna Wilson and Frieda Mast, all of Grundy Center.

The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home, Grundy Center, was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
