John J. Seehusen, 83

John J. Seehusen, 83, of Grundy Center, passed away Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002 at Grundy County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care Unit. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 11 at the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church with burial following in the church cemetery.

John was born May 2, 1919 near Fern, the son of John and Dena (Gelder) Seehusen. On June 23, 1943, he was united in marriage to Neona Kruger at the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church. John farmed for 25 years and then the couple made their home in Grundy Center where they were active in delivering products for CenPeCo Oil Company. Neona passed away on July 24, 1974. John married Betty (Tiggelaar) Panthen on May 25, 1975 at the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church.

He is preceded in death by his wife Neona; parents; infant son James; three sisters Grace Rewerts, Bertha Henze, and Annie Muller.

Survivors include his wife Betty; a daughter Norma (James) Lewis of Parkersburg; two granddaughters; two stepsons; two brothers George (Marian) Seehusen of Ackley, and Dick (Rose) Seehusen of Parkersburg; brother-in-law Clarence Muller of Reinbeck; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
