William P. Riekena, 92, of Wellsburg died May 19, 2006 at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center. Funeral services were May 20 at First Christian Reformed church, rural Wellsburg. Burial followed at the church cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.

William was born September 17, 1913 the son of Peter and Grietje (Ross) Riekena. Bill attended country school. He was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed working with machinery. Bill retired from farming in 1986. Bill was a member of the First Christian Reformed church in rural Wellsburg.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Gladys Riekena and Grace Riekena; and a brother, Ben.
