Mrs. Henry Terfehn nee Nellie Rewerts passed away on March 21, 1959, in the Cheyenne Memorial Hospital in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Mrs. Terfehn was born a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Rewerts near Ackley, in Butler county, on Jan. 28, 1888, thus reaching the age of 71 years, 1 month and 23 days.
As a young girl she made confession of her faith and became a member of the Washington Reformed church, north of Ackley. She attended Teachers College at Cedar Falls, and taught school in Grundy and Butler counties.
On Jan. 28, 1913, she was married to Henry Terfehn. They made their home on a farm near Bristow. They were blessed with two children: a daughter Myra Mae (Mrs. Harvey George) of Cheyenne, Wyo., and a son, Al, of Mesa, Arizona.
Later they moved to Wellsburg, Eldora and Iowa Falls, where they lived until her husband passed away on February 25, 1952. Since that time she lived with her daughter, Mrs. George, in Loveland, Colorado, and Cheyenne, Wyo.
When the Terfehns moved to Wellsburg they became members of Wellsburg Reformed church. Even though she was blind and diabetic, she led a full and active life.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
She leaves to mourn beside her two children, three grandchildren, David, Shirley and Susan Terfehn, three sisters: Ida, Mrs. Geo. G. Johnson, Lake City, Iowa; Mrs. Henrietta Freese and Mrs. James Santie, both of Dumont; three brothers: Jerry Rewerts of Ackley, John Rewerts of Dumont, and Leonard Rewerts of Kesley, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 25, in the Wellsburg Reformed church, Rev. George C. Poppen officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
