Mrs. Harm Okones Dies At Hospital; Funeral Saturday

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the home and later in the Wellsburg Reformed Church for Mrs. Harm Okones, 84, who died last Wednesday in the Grundy County Memorial hospital.

Rev. George Poppen officiated at the service. Burial was in the Reformed Church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Harold Murra, Bernard Murra, Stanley Okones, Willis Nederhoff, Eugene Ruter, and Neil Okones Jr. Music for the service was furnished by Mrs. Royce Tack and Mrs. John Olthoff, with Mrs. Harold Lindaman organist. Flower attendants were Mrs. William Ross and Mrs. Rieke Ross.

Obituary
Anke Nederhoff was born June 6, 1875, in Shiloh township, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Nederhoff.

She attended rural school in the county. On March 7, 1901, she was united in marriage to Harm Okones, and the couple lived on a farm in Shiloh township until 1943, when they moved to Wellsburg.

Mr. Okones passed away on October 17, 1958.

The deceased became a member of the Wellsburg Reformed Church on June 2, 1904, and served the church faithfully throughout her life.

She is survived by three sons, Neil, Henry and Herman, all of Wellsburg; two daughters, Anna, Mrs. Ben Murra of Ackley, and Matilda, Mrs. Jake Engelkes, of Holland; a brother, Carl Nederhoff, Wellsburg; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, plus many relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; a sister, Antje, Mrs. John Okones; a brother, Ebbo Nederhoff; two grandchildren, Michael Lewis and Toni Lee, children of Stanley Okones.
