Funeral Monday For Kuno Ohling At Local Church

Funeral services for Kuno Ohling were held Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Beving Funeral Home and later at the Reformed Church with Rev. Gideon Wolbrink officiating.

Mrs. Woodrow Lindaman and Mrs. Elmer Ruter sang two numbers accompanied by Miss Marcella Neessen. Flower attendants were Mrs. Henry Hook and Mrs. Nettie Meyer.

Pall bearers were Lambert Meyer, Ernest Burkle, Edward Schoolman, Jim Bienfang, Jon Santee, and Edward R. Harms.

Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Kuno Ohling, son of Gerriet and Anna Wubbens Ohling, was born October 26, 1887 in Westerhausan, Germany.

He passed away Friday evening at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for about a week. He reached the age of 79 years, seven months and seven days.

Mr. Ohling came to America with his parents, brothers and sisters on March 13, 1913, settling in the Wellsburg community. He was employed on the farm and in Wellsburg. In the early 1930's he moved to Wellsburg where he made his home until the time of his death.

He was baptized and confirmed in Germany, and was received into the membership of the Wellsburg Reformed Church in 1922.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, George and Jannes and one sister, Mrs. Clara Schoolman. He is survived by two brothers and one sister, who are Mrs. Meta Meyer of Ackley, Andrew of Wellsburg and Edgar of Steamboat Rock.
