Services Held For LeRoy Lutterman Saturday, Nov. 16
LeRoy Lutterman was taken from this life very suddenly Thursday morning, November 14, 1968 at his farm home south of Wellsburg, due to an apparent heart attack. He reached the age of 66 years and 4 months.
He was born Jurgen LeRoy Lutterman on July 14, 1902 on a farm in Shiloh Township south of Wellsburg, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jurgen Lutterman (nee Louise Getting). He attended the rural school in the area. He graduated from Wellsburg High School in 1923. For one year he attended Ellsworth College at Iowa Falls and for two years he taught school northeast of Wellsburg. On Sept. 28, 1933 he was united in marriage to Miss Lucille Van Lengen. Following their marriage they lived on a farm south of Wellsburg. This was blessed with 2 daughters.
He was a member of the Wellsburg Reformed Church having made confession of his faith in Jesus Christ on Dec. 3, 1939.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
Those left to mourn his passing are: his wife, Lucille, 2 daughters (Sheryl), Mrs. Eldon Harms of Wellsburg, Miss Ardith Lutterman of Waterloo, one sister, (Genevieve), Mrs. Marvin Tack of Holland, 4 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, November 16, at 1:00 p.m. at the Doyen Funeral Home and at 1:30 p.m. at the Reformed Church at Wellsburg. Rev. Gideon Wolbrink was officiating clergyman. Two duet numbers were sung by Mrs. Woodrow Lindaman and Mrs. Elmer Ruter accompanied by Miss Marcella Neessen, organist. Miss Sadie Behrends and Mrs. Vernon Stahl were flower attendants. Pall bearers were John Krull, Basil Snyder, Clarence Freese, John Loger, Alvin Blythe, and Kenneth Bunger. Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church.
