Jerry Lutterman, Lifelong Resident, Died Here Friday
Jerry J. Lutterman passed away very suddenly Friday evening around 10:30 o'clock at his farm home southeast of Wellsburg due to a heart attack. He reached the age of 61 years, 11 months and 26 days.
He was born on a farm in Shiloh Township, southeast of Wellsburg on May 6, 1907, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Lutterman, (nee Tillie Debuhr). He attended the rural school in the area. On March 28, 1934 he was united in marriage to Miss Sarah Williams at the Eastfriesland Presbyterian Church Parsonage by the Rev. F. Engelkes. Following their marriage they lived on the farm place of his parents. They had made their home on this farm their entire married life.
He was a member of the Wellsburg Reformed Church having made confession of his faith in Jesus Christ on December 18, 19?.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Jurgen who passed away in 1904 a the age of 2.
Those left to mourn his passing are his wife, Sarah, 2 sisters and 1 brother George Lutterman of Wellsburg, (Tena), Mrs. Conrad Molendorp of Wellsburg, (LaVerne), Mrs. Dale Tack of Holland, 2 nieces: Mrs. Boyd Meyer of Wellsburg, Mrs. Arnold Nederhoff of Wellsburg and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, May 5, at 1:00 p.m. at the Doyen Funeral home and at 1:30 p.m. at the Reformed Church. The Rev. Gideon Wolbrink was officiating clergyman. Two duet numbers were sung by Mrs. Robert Valentine and Mrs. Douglas Geerdes accompanied by Miss Marcella Neessen, organist.
Mrs. Edwin Behrends and Mrs. Jake Paterni were flower attendants.
Pall bearers were Robert Willems, James Willems, Shelby Luwe, Arnold Nederhoff, Boyd Meyer and Eugene Ruter.
Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church.
