Services For Alice Nederhoff Held Monday

Funeral services for Mrs. Kathrina "Alice" Nederhoff of Wellsburg were held on Monday, February 2, 1987, at 11:00 a.m. at the Wellsburg Church, Wellsburg, Iowa. Rev. Roger D. Huitink officiated.

Rev. and Mrs. Roger Huitink sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus." They were accompanied by Marcella Neessen who also played selected numbers of the prelude and postlude.

The casket bearers were Clarence Diekman, Dennis Kiewiet, Raymond Diekman, John M. Miller, Herbert Meyer, and Dale Johnson.

The ushers were Eugene Ruter and Edwin Behrends. Mrs. John M. Miller and Mrs. Dale Johnson were in charge of floral arrangements.

The interment service was held in the Wellsburg Reformed Church cemetery.

Relatives and friends were invited to return to the church following the committal services for a period of Christian fellowship and refreshments.

The Doyen-Abels Funeral Home of Wellsburg was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Mrs. Kathrina "Alice" Nederhoff passed away at 9:30 a.m. Friday, January 30, 1987 at the Long Term Care Unit of the Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center, Iowa. She attained the age of 85 years, 4 months and 7 days.

She was born on September 23, 1901 at Wellsburg and was the daughter of George and Gertie Peters Neessen. She grew up in Wellsburg and attended the Wellsburg School.

On August 25, 1927, she was united in marriage to Albert C. Nederhoff at Wellsburg. After their marriage they lived in Grundy Center for two years. Then they lived near Wellsburg and Eldora where they farmed, moving to live in Wellsburg in 1932.

Her husband Albert passed away on March 19, 1984. After the death of her husband, she lived with her daughter Lois at Swisher, Iowa until she became a resident of the Long Term Care Unit on January 1, 1985.

She was a long time member of the Wellsburg Reformed Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband and two brothers.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lois Larson of Swisher, Iowa and Mrs. Betty Mehmen of Katy, Texas; one son, Dale Nederhoff of Tampa, Florida, one sister, Mrs. Dena Ross of Wellsburg, three grandsons, two granddaughters and one great-granddaughter.
