Mrs. Kannegeiter Dies At Ackley

Mrs. Eibe Kannegeiter, who for many years resided in German township, Grundy county, died at her home in Ackley last Saturday. She had been in failing health the past six months. She and her husband observed their 50th wedding anniversary on the 11th of last February. The decline in her health became noticeable shortly after that time.

Funeral services were held at the home in Ackley at 1:30 Wednesday and later at the Eastfriesland church in German township with Rev. Calvin Siemsen officiating. Burial was in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Was Native of Grundy County
Mrs. Kannegeiter was a native of Grundy county. She was born on a German township farm 70 years ago. Her maiden name was Tobina Ludeman. She grew up on the home farm and attended rural school there and made her home with her parents until her marriage. The couple began housekeeping on a German township farm and they raised their large family there. Five years ago they purchased a house in Ackley and that became their future home. Mrs. Kannegeiter was an active worker in the Eastfriesland church which she attended during the largest share of her life. She served as a Sunday school teacher and church organist for some time.

Large Family Survive
Mrs. Kannegeiter is survived by her husband, three daughters and five sons, all of whom live in the vicinity where they were raised. The daughters are: Marie, Mrs. John Kuper, Gesina, Mrs. Wm. Oelman, Esther, Mrs. Harm Kruse. The sons are: John, Henry, Matthew, Harry and Fred. There are 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. One brother, Sander Ludemann, Chester, Iowa, and one sister, Mrs. Herman Deters, DeSmet, South Dakota, survive.
