Funeral Services Saturday for Andrew N. Geerdes

Funeral services for Andrew N. Geerdes were held at the Eastfriesland Presbyterian church in German township with the local pastor, Rev. Siemsen, officiating Saturday afternoon. Burial was in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Mr. Geerdes died Tuesday of last week of a heart ailment. He was 71 years old. He was born July 8, 1872, in Germany. He came to America with his brother in 1891. They located on a farm in German township. On April 27, 1905, he was married to Antje Gelder. The couple made their home in Cleves where he owned and operated a repair shop and garage for many years.

Surviving are his wife and one son George. There are two grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Ben Franken of Parkersburg and Mrs. George Wilts who still lives in Germany.
