Mrs. Boekleman Dead
Buffalo Center Tribune: Mrs. Recka Boekleman, nee Gardels, died at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. J. C. Weible, in Buffalo Center, Iowa, Tuesday, February 5, 1907. She was born at Osfreizen, Germany, Nov. 23, 1819, and was therefore eighty-six years, two months and thirteen days old at the time of her death. She was married to Ubbe Boekleman in Germany about fifty-seven years ago. They moved from Germany about forty years ago to Forreston, Illinois, where they resided a short time, moving from there to Cleves, Iowa, from which place they moved to Buffalo Center about ten years ago. Mrs. Boekleman was a kind, loving and dutiful mother. She was one of those dearly beloved mothers who have made the world better by having lived in it. The funeral services were held in the German Reformed church of this place, conducted by Rev. Haken of the German Valley Reformed church, yesterday afternoon at two o'clock. The remains were taken to Cleves, Iowa, last evening for burial by the side of her husband. She leaves two sons, three daughters, thirty-one grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and a large circle of sympathizing friends to mourn her loss.
